Luke 4:18–19 is all our vision in all its ramifications and consideration.
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."
Seeing people saved, healed, set free, discipled, and equipped, empowered and serving is the core of our activities.
MISSION STATEMENT and OBJECTIVES
To be a dynamic spiritual organism empowered by the Holy Spirit to communicate the Good News of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ with as many people as possible in our church, community, and throughout the world, which is the mission of this church.
To be a worshiping fellowship, experiencing an awareness of God, recognizing His person, and responding in obedience to His leadership, to experience an increasingly meaningful fellowship with God and fellow believers, to help people experience a growing knowledge of God and man.
To be a church that ministers unselfishly to persons in the community and the world in Jesus’ name. To be a church whose purpose is to be Christlike in our daily living by emphasizing total commitment of life, personality, and possessions to the lordship of Christ?
We commit to disciple, enable and encourage one another to love, to transform the church to a family, worship, and serve our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Our objective is to bring the Body of Christ to UNITY as one family, where love and forgiveness are the pillar of our relationship among members.
We confirm that our primary purpose is the communication of the Good News of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ to all persons as stated in Romans 1:16-17.
We endeavor to equip and enable each individual for this purpose through the provision of opportunities of worship, education, service, and fellowship as described in Ephesians 4: 11-16.
The New Generation of Pentecostal churches-SHELTER exists to obey God, expand the Kingdom, and change lives. Five primary strategies are central to our success:
1.We exist for Celebration.
Celebration occurs every time we enter the presence of God. Scripture calls this worship and there are many expressions of worship including: singing, commitment, praying, hearing the word of God, giving, baptism, meditating, and the celebration of the Lord's Supper. (Matthew 4:10, John 4:23-24).
2. We exist to Change Lives.
The change of lives shall be considered in two levels
- Spiritual level: Evangelism
Evangelism is the communication of God's word to a lost world. The Bible declares that God is not willing for anyone to perish and that God's desire is for His house to be full. The Bible places the responsibility of evangelism on the church. "His intent was that through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known."
(Ephesians 3:10, II Peter 3:9).
- Social level:
Changing lives is not only about spiritual; We also exist to bring the best we can to our church members and the community, and people we are evangelizing in order to change their social lives so that they can have better life.
Therefore the New Generation of Pentecostal churches shall have the right to initiate development projects or any other income generating proposal to empower people. We believe that the spiritual and the social work together and can’t be separated.
Changing people’s life socially is also to provide education to uneducated people in setting up schools as well as training skills centers or any other formal and informal education institution such as primary or secondary school. universities and bible colleges.
Changing lives is also providing health to people around our community in constructing clinics and hospitals
3. We exist for Service.
Ministry is the hands-on demonstration of Christianity to one another and to the community we serve. God has put a high priority on ministry. The Bible says, "By this shall all men know that you are my disciples-that you have love for one another." (John 13:35).
4. We exist for Discipleship.
Discipleship is the education of God's people in God's word. Discipleship brings about fulfillment and maturity in the church. "Let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity.” (Hebrews 6:1).
For this and for the benefit of our leadership NGPC will provide Biblical education for its church leaders in setting up bible colleges/Bible schools.
5. We exist for Prayer.
The first thing the early church did when they assembled was pray together. Prayer is the fuel that drives the ambitious priorities of the church and the spiritual power that changes the world. Christ demonstrated the power of prayer by making it a priority of His earthly ministry. If the Church is going to be effective, it must pray. (Acts 1:14, John 17, I Peter 5:7).
